Murphy Battista LLP is delighted to be the Premier Sponsor of the 7th Annual “Golf for Julia” fundraiser taking place on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at the Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club in Kelowna.

Julia is one inspiring 4th grader. Since sustaining a spinal cord injury at 17 months, she and her family have persevered in doing what is necessary to help heal and retrain Julia’s spinal cord. However, being a child with a spinal cord injury means that as Julia grows and develops, her rehabilitation activities must be adjusted to keep her strong and progressing toward recovery. That requires trips to rehabilitation specialists unavailable in Canada and updating equipment to accommodate Julia’s changing needs. While some of the cost is covered, much of it is not. And that’s where the Kelowna community has been incredible.

For seven consecutive years, golfers, sponsors (including our firm!), volunteers, friends, and family have come together to raise funds to support Julia’s journey to walk again. Last year’s golf tournament set a new record in donations. We are hopeful that we can do even better in 2023. All the funds raised are used to cover the cost of therapies and equipment, and the event is always delightful.

This popular event has sold out for golf and sponsorships. However, tickets are still available to attend the post-tournament dinner ($55 each), and their Raffle is on now (all proceeds go to Julia).

Raffle tickets are 3 for $50 or 1 for $20. Raffle prizes are:

• Grand Prize: $1,000 gift certificate from Marlin Travel
• 2nd Prize: $500 gift certificate from Watermark Beach Resort
• 3rd Prize: $150 gift certificate from Cactus Club Cafe
