Biography
I have proudly served communities and my country for almost 30 years. I am incredibly grateful to continue in the service of others as a civil litigation lawyer with Murphy Battista LLP’s Kelowna office. I have a mixed practice with a developing focus on injury, insurance, and medical malpractice claims.
Before launching my career as a lawyer, I worked as a paramedic with BC Ambulance Service for nearly 10 years, followed by an 18-year career as a regular member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I bring a unique perspective and skillset to the practice of law with my background in traumatic pre-hospital medical care and as an experienced investigator.
As a member of the RCMP, I either lead or participated in investigations and prepared prosecutorial packages for a variety of cases including, but not limited to fraud, complex drug offences, serious assaults, homicide, and serious or fatal motor vehicle collisions.
I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve overseas on two UN Peacekeeping Missions in South Sudan, focusing on human rights and building police capacity in a fledgling country. As a long serving member of the RCMP Emergency Response Team, I honed my ability to work under pressure and remain flexible in dynamic unfolding events.
My background and experience make me an exemplary legal advocate for my clients. I look forward to being in your corner.
