Angela Bespflug named one of Benchmark Canada’s Top 100 Women in Litigation
August 3, 2023
Congratulations to our colleague Angela Bespflug for her well-deserved recognition as one of Benchmark Canada’s Top 100 Women in Litigation. The women on this list have earned their place through their involvement in some of the most impactful litigation matters in recent history, as well as for earning the respect of their peers and clients as leaders in their respective fields.
Over the past year, Angela led teams that were successful in the certification of three new class action lawsuits – one on behalf of Indigenous civilians subjected to racial discrimination while in the RCMP’s custody or control (Meguinis-Martin v Canada), and two on behalf of ill and injured veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, alleging the improper withholding of disability benefits (Bruyea v Canada) and the improper claw-back of pension benefits (Hirschfield v Canada).
