Michelle is a lawyer at Murphy Battista LLP.

Michelle acts for plaintiffs in a range of matters including medical malpractice, personal injury, and insurance disputes.

Drawing on her medical background, Michelle is uniquely positioned to analyze complex medical evidence and navigate intricate health-related issues. Her practical knowledge of the health care system, combined with her legal training, allows her to effectively advocate for plaintiffs in medically complex cases.

Before entering the practice of law, Michelle worked as an Emergency Medical Call Taker at BC Ambulance, answering 9-1-1 calls and providing critical front-of-line care to individuals in distress. During her time at BC Ambulance, Michelle developed a deep appreciation for the challenges patients and families face during times of crisis, as well as the lasting impact of these events. She brings the same empathy and understanding to her legal practice, recognizing that every case represents more than just a legal dispute, but also a deeply personal experience for her clients. Michelle was awarded the Excellence in Patient Care Award in recognition of her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to serving the community. She also received the Stork Award for assisting in the delivery of a baby.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Michelle worked at the BC Centre for Disease Control testing COVID samples, contributing to vital public health efforts across the province. These experiences reinforced her analytical and detail-oriented approach, which are qualities that continue to guide her legal practice today.

Currently, Michelle also works with the Canucks Autism Network, where she provides autism-related training across the Lower Mainland. Through this work, she continues to support individuals and families in the community by promoting accessibility and inclusion.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys travelling, baking, and spending time on a sunny patio with a good book.

Prior to joining Murphy Battista, Michelle completed her articles at a major national corporate law firm.
