Raymond Boutet
Lawyer
Vancouver
Raymond Boutet has just completed his articling period with Murphy Battista and has been called to the bar as of May 27, 2026.
Prior to attending law school, Raymond had an extraordinary career in healthcare. He started as Registered Nurse at BC Children’s Hospital and spent the next 22 years there. In this time, he was an educator, a clinical nurse coordinator and a director. He was also the Senior Director for the Maples Adolescent Treatment Center. During his tenure in healthcare, he took additional training in leadership and critical incident analysis. He was often called to lead reviews of adverse events that had occurred to patients and write up the findings.
During his time at MB, Raymond has spoken to multiple chamber applications. He has advocated successfully for a client in a residential tenancy board dispute as well. Given his advanced medical knowledge, he often reviews medical charts to clarify causes of action in a medical negligence claim.
Raymond tends to take a trauma informed approach to dealing with clients. He recognizes that suffering a personal injury or a medical negligence issue is traumatic and often anxiety provoking. He leads his work with empathy and compassion, providing space to tell your story. Raymond has a passion for helping families achieve excellence in their health. He is now taking that personal passion and applying it to his legal career.
In his spare time, Raymond is an avid cross-fitter and can be seen lifting heavy things. He’s a foodie that’s always up to trying a new restaurant and loves to travel.
