Allergan Adjustable Gastric Lap-Band Class Action

Proposed Class Proceeding on behalf of Canadians harmed by the Allergan Adjustable Gastric Lap-Band

What is this proposed claim about?

Murphy Battista LLP and Rosenberg Law are working together on a proposed class proceeding on behalf of individuals in Canada harmed due to the implantation of a medical device known as the Allergan Adjustable Gastric Lap-Band (the “Allergan Lap-Band”).

The Allergan Lap-Band is a laparoscopic adjustable gastric band implant marketed as a means to assist with weight loss in adults. The proposed class proceeding alleges that the Allergan Lap-Band has a high failure, injury, and complication rate. These complications may result in the need for one or more corrective surgeries and/or permanent damage. The class proceeding alleges that the unacceptably high risks of the Allergan Lap-Band outweigh the benefits purportedly conferred by the device.
