Sarah Mansfield is from Co. Waterford, Ireland. In 1999 she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. Prior to obtaining her degree she spent one year at the University of Nevada, School of Medicine. There, she worked as a research assistant for an eminent professor in the Department of Pharmacology. Following her degree, she travelled back to the United States, to the University of Vermont, where she completed various medical courses including those in the areas of gross anatomy and histopathology.
In late 2000, Sarah moved back to Ireland where she worked as a medical scientist in a large Dublin hospital. While working there she attended law school at night. In 2007 she left medical science for a career in law. From 2007 to 2010 Sarah trained with an established Dublin law firm where she gained valuable experience in the medical and health law area. She qualified as a solicitor in both Ireland and the UK in April 2010.
In July 2010, Sarah moved to Vancouver with her husband Fergal. Shortly after her arrival she began working with the senior lawyers at Murphy Battista LLP. Her combined medical and legal backgrounds have proved most useful in various high value medical malpractice and personal injury claims.
Following successful completion of the federal equivalency exams and articles, Sarah was called to the Bar in 2016 and is now practicing law in BC.
When not working, Sarah enjoys skiing, cycling and hiking. She also loves to travel and particularly looks forward to trips back to Ireland to visit her family there.
