March 15, 2020 Update: Please note that the Vancouver Military Dinner has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. They will be monitoring events as they unfold, and will announce a new date once they can.
Their online donation portal remains open if you’d still like to participate in supporting Soldier On.
Murphy Battista LLP is proud to be a sponsor of the 7th annual Vancouver Military Dinner being held on April 18, 2020, at the Vancouver Club.
Every year this black-tie event showcases and supports a different charity that does excellent work for veterans and serving Canadian Armed Forces personnel. At the same time, the Dinner, conducted in the style of a mess dinner, provides a unique opportunity for Vancouverites to learn more about military customs, personnel, and veterans.
The proceeds of this year’s Dinner will go to Soldier On. Solder On is an incredible Canadian Armed Forces program devoted to supporting veterans’ rehabilitation through sport and physical activity. The organization also leads and manages the team of dedicated athletes representing Canada at the 2020 Invictus Games, being held in The Hague in May 2020. The Invictus Games is an inspired adaptive sports competition featuring competitors from 19 nations. Using sport to inspire recovery and support rehabilitation, the Invictus Games serve to generate understanding and respect for wounded, injured, and sick Servicemen and women.
Keynote speakers this year include Rear-Admiral (RAdm) Bob Auchterlonie (the senior Canadian Armed Forces officer in BC ) and Major (Retired) Rob Hicks, a former Invictus Games Team Canada Captain. The evening promises to be inspiring.
