Kristina Shelden, Resource Coordinator, PIRC

Keeping active can be difficult with an injury. But fortunately there are many adaptive options you can take advantage of to get you outside and enjoying the beauty that is Vancouver. ConnecTra is hosting an interactive workshop about adaptive recreation on June 11th, from 2-4pm at the Creekside Community Centre, Multipurpose Room 4.

ConnecTra Adaptive Recreation

Personally, I regret how long it took me to take advantage of these activities. I was so stubborn for so long that I’d “get back to normal” and I’d “do it normally.” I’ve since learned that this stuff is just way too much fun, and just way easier to do, than trying to force my newly shaped body into an old sized hole. Plus, I find all the people to be wonderful, helpful, and respectful.

So if you’re interested in giving it a go, check it out! You can learn more about the event, and RSVP, by clicking here.

Cheers and happy recreationing!
