Excited about the upcoming Paralympic Games? So are we!
This summer has been an adventure for me. I’ve tried out sit waterskiing, paddleboarding, and took part in SCI-BC’s MultiSports day, where everyone’s given a chance to try out a plethora of adapted sports such as tennis, adaptive sailing, shotput, javelin and handcycling (to name a few!). All this sporty goodness has got me in the mood to see how the top athletes do their thing!
On September 7th at 3 p.m., PIRC, in combination with SCI-BC, will be hosting a screening of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games’ opening ceremony on our large flatscreen TV! We’ll have foodstuffs and refreshments for your dining pleasure on hand at Murphy Battista’s Personal Injury Resource Centre (PIRC). It is hosted by all of our Resource Coordinators so there’ll be tons of us on hand to help out and answer any questions you might have. Stop by, relax, and enjoy the ceremony with us! We’ll be sure to have the games on during the entire run as well, September 7th–18th, whenever we’re open. Please stop on by any time to enjoy the games! AND SCI-BC will be screening the games as well at GF Strong 10 a.m.–4 p.m.!
If you’d like to drop by here, have a coffee, tea, soda or an aqua on us, please feel welcome to watch the games here. Or would you prefer to join SCI-BC at GF Strong? You’ve got options! Head on over to GF Strong and chill out there.
You can download a poster for this event HERE.
Please contact with any questions or dietary requests at and one of our Resource Coordinators will be happy to help you out.
