Murphy Battista LLP is proud to be a supporter of the BC Brain Injury Association’s (BCBIA) Annual Fundraising Gala. The Gala will be occurring on February 5th from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Winsor Gallery in Vancouver.

The annual Gala raises money in support of the BCBIA, which seeks to serve the interests of all those affected by an acquired brain injury (ABI) in British Columbia. Ticket sales and additional money raised through the event’s auction will allow the BCBIA to continue their efforts in developing brainstreams.ca – an information and social networking hub that allows individuals, families and professionals in BC to access and share ABI-related information and news.

The funds raised will also help the BCBIA:

  • conduct essential research and implement projects geared toward developing a provincial vision to serve people living with brain injury more effectively;
  • guide individuals, families and caregivers to resources and services in a more effective manner; and
  • support and empower healthcare professionals by providing them with information they need to refer ABI clients to the best possible resources.

Tickets for the event – which features guest speakers, a prize draw and cocktails – are $100 each. The speakers for the evening are Margaret Trudeau and Ellie Ennas. Margart will share details about her experience as a prime minister’s wife, the loss of both her son and former husband, and her journey of acceptance and recovery from bipolar disorder. Ellie will share her inspirational story about life following a brain injury. CBC Radio One’s The Early Edition Host, Fred Lee, will be the auctioneer for the evening.
